Easter at Pateley Bridge was typical Easter weather but this did not stop us from having fun, with various activities to participate in, hunt the eggs for the children. Each child had to search the field to find the egg with their name on and where rewarded with a cream egg for finding it. A gazebo full of approximately 160 prizes were there for the winning with a dip into the tombola tub, find the chicken in the egg and win either the animated singing duck, bee or dog these amused many a camper and our ever increasingly popular duck race took place in the stream at the edge of the field.
What a sight to see little yellow ducks caught up in the current and bobbing down the stream in a bid to be passed the finishing post first. The owners would cheer them on and run along the stream in a bid to somehow encourage them to go faster, a few little ducks in the final heat did I have to say make a bid for everlasting freedom and if you are in Pateley Bridge this summer and see 2 little yellow plastic ducks in the stream or river could you find it in your heart to return them to us please so they can be reunited with their little friends.
